I'm a queer historian and tour guide, specialised in local queer and gender history.
In this event I'll talk about that history, from the iconic Castle of Gerald the Devil...
Who was Gerald (spoiler: toxic!), how is the origin of our city's name connected with gender, what do witches have to do with Saint Bavo's Cathedral, and who are the women alongside the statue of Jacob van Artevelde... Find out all about it at this talk – not for people with a fear of lesser-heard inclusive stories.

UFP presents: performative male contest
Bring your feminist literature, sanitary pads, ipod nano and your best pair of loafers to Broei Duivelsteen on 24/07 and make the ladies drool 🤤. Performative males nailed it with their female gaze looks and we’d like to honour them by dressing (dragging?) up as one.
It’s gonna be a contest, no need to prepare but you can always bring your guitar and sing an indie cover of Chappel Roan’s The Subway. Or slam some poetry, read a chapter of Bell Hooks’ All About Love,… you get the vision! The winner gets a prize!!

Das Iets is a new queer collective from Ghent, founded by Emma Boga and DJ Swindler. You can expect all the bangers that fit our pool party concept. We’ll kick things off with a back-to-back set featuring pop music, after which we’ll each take turns at the decks and build the set up over the course of five hours. We’ll finish off in the high BPM ranges.
