Julien Neirynck and Maya Mertens have emerged as an artist duo in recent years. Their work balances on the border between performance cabaret and visual art. They start from text material by Julien Neirynck.
PLAY I (21U) - Azertyklavierwerke (live)
Azertyklavierwerke writes duets for synths and his own voice. He likes farfetched flavours (from durum and coconut oil to rousing anti-baile beats) but isn't afraid to stir you with undiluted emotional romance. A kind of hyper-pop troubadour, he creates a unique, fleeting, precious moment on stage by improvising with textures, samples and deceptively naive rhyme schemes.
PLAY II (22u) - Kuryakin (dj)
DJ Kuryakin from Ghent is one of the founders of music collective HUNA and Radio Ruit. With a weakness for worldly dance music and all things funky, he makes every dance floor gasp.
PLAY II (23U30) - H.A.R.A.L.D. (live)
H.A.R.A.L.D live is the solo project of multi instrumentalist and houseproducer Harald Bauweraerts.Slowly building a career, he has experimented a lot and got inspired by a wide range of music and cultures.From middle Eastern notes, ancient rhythms, mesmerizing chants and organic vibes to digital and analog electronic dance music.
