DWAAS is een Gents dragcollectief dat dragshows en workshops organiseert, met een focus op LGBTQIA+-jongeren en ruimte voor iedereen die wil experimenteren met zelfexpressie. DWAAS wil binnen de Gentse dragscene een platform creëren voor alternatieve performers, waarbij plezier, speelsheid en artistieke vrijheid centraal staan. Met de ervaring van eerdere samenwerkingen en evenementen wil DWAAS een open, veilige ruimte creëren waarin zowel beginnende als meer ervaren performers kunnen onderzoeken wat drag kan zijn.
Samen met Broei wil DWAAS zich specifiek richten op experiment. De plek binnen Broei is een kans om nieuwe vormen van drag te verkennen, voorbij klassieke formats en verwachtingen.

DWAAS is a Ghent-based drag collective that organizes drag shows and workshops, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ youth and a space for anyone who wants to experiment with self-expression. DWAAS aims to create a platform within Ghent’s drag scene for alternative performers, where fun, playfulness, and artistic freedom take center stage. Drawing on the experience of previous collaborations and events, DWAAS seeks to create an open, safe space where both novice and more experienced performers can explore what drag can be.
Together with Broei, DWAAS aims to focus specifically on experimentation. The space within Broei offers an opportunity to explore new forms of drag, moving beyond traditional formats and expectations.
